A Tail We Could Wag
creates fun wear for people and pets. The spirit of the company comes from its home? Ketchum, Idaho (better known as Sun Valley).

Why Sun Valley? That's where I was living when I made a colorful collar for my dog "Aiko" from an old leash and worn Guatemalan sash.

Compliments followed. Compliments galore. People recommended that I make them for sale. It didn't seem to be a whole idea until I remembered a W.H. Auden poem that I had written on a photo of "Aiko". 'In moments of joy, all of us wished we possessed a tail we could wag.' Putting two and two together, I knew what I had to do. So, I began making collars and leashes and selling them over the counter at Apples, a local bar & grill and the source of my paychecks.

Business grew so quickly that I gave up my day job, found people to help with the sewing and focused on building a company. The W.H. Auden poem seemed to capture the essence of this small but growing enterprise - perfectly.

We now have products available throughout the United States as well as Japan. I tend to get the credit for our blooming success, but others (including a great staff) have contributed, especially the wonderful Mayan artists of Guatemala.

I hope that when you see one of our products, you too, wish you had a tail to wag.

Enjoy!
